Summer Reading 2017
Enrollment for Summer Reading 2017 will begin on Monday May 22nd. Summer Reading will go from the week of June 1st through the next to last week of July. Each week those enrolled in Summer Reading will complete a list of tasks for that week, then the following week check in at the library for a new set of tasks and get a prize for the previous week. The last week of summer reading is a catch up week for anyone who still wants to get prizes!
Can't make it in to pick up your reading activity sheets?
This will be updated with activity sheets as they come out each week starting the week of June 1st. Week 8 will be a catch up week, so if you've missed a week or two and would like to still complete them for a prize you can do so. Starting the week of July 18th you can come in to pick up your trophy for participating in Summer Reading!
Once again throughout Summer Reading there will be performances on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM. More performers to be announced for July!
- June 7th: Laughing Matters - "We are Jay Cady and Leslie Seifert-Cady, and we have a ball entertaining people. Our shows are full of juggling, mime, magic, improvisation, and duet humor in the vaudeville style." - Laughing Matters
- June 14th: Mr. Kneel - "Mr Kneel has a mission to create positive, informative and self-esteem building music for families to share together. Music with an educational and developmentally appropriate message that educators and parents will embrace, but so good that kids, and adults, will want to listen to it again and again." - Mr. Kneel
- June 21st: Mane Stage Maniacs - "Improv means to 'make it up as you go', and that's what we do! We'll do our best to make you laugh!" - Mane Stage Maniacs
- June 28th: Wheel of Fortune Ranch Petting Zoo - The Wheel of Fortune Ranch will be having a petting zoo on the north lawn of the library. There will be goats and other farm animals to meet! - Wheel of Fortune Ranch
We will be hosting a variety of summer workshops. You can enroll for the workshops starting on Monday May 22nd and the cost is $2 per child. Space in each workshop is limited to 10 people, except for Stepping Stones which is limited to 20 people. Between May 22nd and June 1st each child can only be signed up for two workshops to give everyone an equal opportunity. After June 1st all remaining spaces will be open to anyone who wishes to sign up. Children 8 and under should have a parent attend with them. The only workshop that spands two days is Stepping Stones, all other workshops are separate.
